Being in the right place at the right time is credited for many successes. Having the right membership for the wrong times- when accident or illness make air ambulance care a necessity- will protect finances from the strain of high medical bills. When driving through Steelville, MO Roger and Gail Kiesling could never have imagined that the AirMedCare Network (AMCN) membership they purchased just three months before would be put to such quick use.
It was around 9:30 a.m.,” Gail said. “We were in Steelville and I said, ‘I love you, honey,’ and he said, ‘I love you more.’ I looked over and his head was slumped down and drool was coming out of his mouth.”
Gail dialed 9-1-1 and Steelville Ambulance responded quickly. The crew pulled Roger from the truck and began treating his cardiac emergency in the ambulance. They called for Air Evac Lifeteam out of Sullivan, Missouri, a provider in the AirMedCare Network, knowing that minutes matter when it comes to cardiac issues, and the right hospital for Kiesling was more than an hour away by ground. Roger lost his heartbeat four different times that day.
The air ambulance crew treated Roger enroute to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri, where they implanted an automatic defibrillator in Roger and monitored it. While he says he moves a little slower than he used to, 73-year-old Roger feels much better.
Having an air ambulance membership with AirMedCare Network also meant that the Kieslings would never receive a bill for the lifesaving care Roger received from the Air Evac Lifeteam crew. While all AMCN providers treat and transport regardless of membership or ability to pay, membership removes financial concerns after the air ambulance flight.
“Thank you just doesn’t seem to do it justice,” Gail said.
“We are so thankful to God, and to everyone here. Everything fell into place, and Roger is here today because of these heroes."
Gail Kiesling

If an AirMedCare Network Provider does not transport you, you will be responsible for payment. Our membership program only covers transports provided by our affiliates.
There is no limit to the number of transports a member may take in a year. Each transport is handled the same way and must be an emergent or time-sensitive transport as determined by a physician (or other appropriate provider) or first responder unaffiliated with AMCN.
With an AirMedCare Network membership, any person or persons who reside under one (residential) roof are covered. In the event we have a member who lives in a duplex or apartment complex, we designate the primary member’s residence/address— that is considered the “one roof”. Undergraduate college students can be covered under their parent’s membership as well as anyone previously residing in the household who is then moved to a permanent care facility.
